Christmas
(Dec 25th) is an annual commemoration Christians celebrate when they
remember the birth of their savior Jesus Christ while Easter is a remembrance
of the most profound tenet of Christian belief entailing the resurrection of
Jesus Christ, which falls around (March 21st and April 25th).
These old Mega churches’ festivals affirm our enduring faith
in God through Christ as Christians that;
“God sent his only begotten Son and in his immeasurable devotional Love
he assigned him to die for the sinners of human kind but on the third day he
however rose him from the dead during Easter.”
In
traditional celebration of Christmas and Easter, it’s a call to Christians to
retrieve, (while meditating their purposes and calls God bestowed to
accomplish) they engage in power prayers and well-doing by confessing their
sins and be baptized by the Holy Spirit in replenishment and refilling.
As a church and
family, Christians should recite prayers and sing joyful songs shouting
victory, it is the foundation of our belief and cornerstone of Christian
theology. It is our refuge and our only Hope. In Christmas, we testify the
foretold promise of the birth of Messiah and In Easter, we witness the
fulfilling of Salvation.
In Christmas we discern, Jesus is Immanuel (God with us) and
In Easter we comprehend Jesus is God when he rose from the dead and ascended
back to his Glory with the Father.
But what is the authentic Celebration of these festivals?
The nature on the approach for Christmas and Easter has been twisted and
adopted a total new picture. The Christian point of view has been decapitated.
There is hardly celebration of these festivals with incorporation of Christ but
rather between families, neighbors, relatives and friends.
Christmas is NEVER a festival based solely on exchanging
gifts between families and friends without accepting Christ as the Lord and
savior of our lives.
The contemporary
meaning of Christmas and Easter conceals the authenticity and divinity of the
true historical Christian meaning of these festivals. They insist on decoration
of a Christmas tree and Santa Claus, decoration of eggs, extreme makeover and
vacations, drinking liquor and gifts, sex with friends and painting homes,
purchase of home furniture and sleepovers.
But is it wrong to buy new stuffs during Christmas and
Easter?
There is absolutely NOTHING wrong when celebrating
the birthday of the messiah and his resurrection if it requires purchasing new
stuffs, but do you restore the integrity of Christmas and Easter? Is there a Christian motive heartedly
in your approach? How?
Children should be taught what Christmas is in Christian
perspective, teenagers, young adults and elders should celebrate in Joyful
noise with great shouts and praising songs that our triumph Is born lived
and conquered the grave.
When its Christmas or Easter, mankind are to hear the word
of promise, healed, touched, rescued, lead and filled with Holy Spirit through
Salvation of Jesus Christ.
